The art of being super cool when selling to customerlue

By Christoper Johnson

Why I give away FREE stuff every and month to help grow my business and why you should be doing the same.

I’m going to tell you some stuff that can help you with any business if my grammar and spelling is bad get over it.

For the past 12 years I have an extreme passion for marketing and selling what I mean is reading and listening to a lot of marketing and sales info and doing no action at all just procrastination with as little action as possible just dreaming and wasting time.

If you have any experience with this you know what I mean.

I have listened to literally 100s  hundreds of hours of audio books and read over a 100 books on the subject.

I know what you’re thinking I don’t care about you!

Well you should because I have made a lot of mistakes doing just about everything you could possible do wrong.  But I have just started to turn the corner and I want tell you a few things.

So buckle up and pay attention

The first thing is no one cares about you or what you say people listen to you on the outside  but internally what they are thinking is “what does what this person saying have to do with me how does this help me”.

I know what you’re think my parents care my wife cares, my husband cares, my friends care.  You’re right  they do but they don’t care enough to make your dreams come true for you so listen up.

Inherently people don’t care so how do you get them to care.

You give to them you give them love, shelter, friendship, money and safety fun.

How does this go with marketing?

Side note Just in case you don’t know if a person doesn’t know you from a bar of soap it can take up to 9 points of contact before they will buy.

Unless you are selling something like food to a hungry person.  More on the importance of creating this feeling in a later post.

Keep this in mind 9 points of contact!

Example a person wants to buy a skipping rope.

Without knowing the top two points this is how a moron would try and sell this item.  I know because this is how would of advertised this( remember this is based on the internet but it can be used on range of media. )

Terrible typical Ad example 1

Skipping Rope $19.99

Visit:- www.johnsoninhouse.com

It would be like standing on the side of a freeway with a sign that says stop here for a skipping rope you can trust me!

The way I once would of advertise this ( remember this is based on the internet but it can be used on range of media )

Ok so the ad I just showed you is your typical Ad either on PPC or on your site.

Maybe if you’re lucky and I mean lotto lucky someone may buy this skipping rope from you.

But keep in mind it will can take up to 9 points of contact or to sell anything in general.

Maybe you’re lucky someone has researched this specific skipping rope and done all the ground work for you and decides to go a head and by this skipping rope from this AD.

Lets see how we could make this better AD better.

Check out my friends awesome skipping video that will have you skipping like a champ in a week.

Visit www.johnsoninhouse.com/skipping

Even though it is just text I would bet you this would get more clicks than the other Ad we will make this Ad better however.

I know what you’re thinking.

“Aren’t we selling a skipping rope here?”

Why do I need a video?

(Basically)we need to build up brownie points with our customer first. ( 9 points of contact remember)

You could just as easily give them PDF program but we need to create some reciprocity to get some action.

Why  have I mentioned a friend?

We are pr-framing for something later.  Setting our “friend” up to be a hero, celebrity and guru.

How to make this Ad even more powerful

We need to ask ourselves a few questions

We need to get in the mind of our customer.

What is their end result for wanting to buy a skipping rope?

Losing weight?

Getting fit?

Improving endurance?

They want to look like rocky?

Let’s take the first one for losing weight

OK..

Something else we want to do is take the person on a journey for their desired end result.

This is what our new Ad might look like..

Learn how to lose 4 pounds in a week?

The best skipper I know Jay’s FREE video will have you skipping like a pro in a week.

visit www.skippingrope.com

Number 2 it once again pr-frames our friend jay as some guru with a skipping rope we can use this later to build authority.

Something else you could do is go on I stock photo or use your own photo make it better,  at the bottom of the text it would build more authority.

But is most cases what we have done is fine.

OK so our prospect has been pr framed and they have desired outcome in mind they click on the link.

They go to our web site…

We still need to be working hard to build authority.

Here is the the opt in page I created.  Here is the link if you want to check it out. https://www.johnsoninhouse.com/skipping

Here is the breakdown:-

Headline:- Once again promoting a pr-framing our friend “Jay”.

Sub headline:-  Promotes our potential customers desired end result which is to lose weight, it mentioned that is for all levels(we are trying to sell a skipping rope to beginners)  Created some mystery about the rope we are trying to sell.

Video light box:- More information about what the video is about.

Simple opt in email only:- The reason for the email only is it will increase conversion.

The text above the opt in form:-  Mentions that the video ” is not intimidating” and that once again our friend “Jay” is a real trainer.

Side note:-  Our friend Jay is a real trainer and an awesome skipper.

After they opt in the person is sent to a thank you page where they can get their video (it’s time to sell) this is selling video I created.

Click on the link below to watch the video.

Check it out here:- https://www.johnsoninhouse.com/jump-rope/

Here is where all our pr-framing comes together.

“Jay is introduced in the video by someone else which builds and promotes him as guru again.”

Jay is then seen skipping in the video like a pro more “authority”.

He then gives a breakdown of his skipping technique and some basic drills.

Then “Jay” finally goes for the sale.

Introducing the specific skipping rope he uses explains why it is the best.  But more importantly why it can help.

Introduces some scarcity offering only a certain amount at a cheaper price.

The video has a delayed call to action on it so the button only shows up at the end of the video when it’s time to sell.

You either get the sale now awesome. If you don’t follow up with a sequence of emails.

Giving great content talking about diet, other exercise, goal setting only passively selling the skipping rope.

You will sell a few with good follow up.

After a sequence of great content emails.

That’s it if you  get nothing else out of this but a group of people that read your emails that’s awesome.  Eventually you can build the relationship to the point that they will buy your products or services.

But if you do get sales and you do right by people they will come back and you will always have customers.

If you want a really quick formula so that you read through this post every time here it is:-

Give them something cool that can help them! + Build authority = Sales.

If you use this stuff and works remember to use it responsible as it can be very powerful stuff.   I trust that you will only use it to sell products that people really want and that can really help them out.

Hope this was helpful leave some comments.

If you ever need any help email me johnsoninhouse@gmail.com.

My next post will a breakdown of the customer flow.

Regards
